Legal Action
Thaaikarangal Charitable Trust is a stalwart advocate for the blind, taking swift and decisive legal action when the rights of this vulnerable community are threatened by the government, private sector, or individuals. In a recent example, the trust passionately opposed the Union government's announcement to cease announcements in railway stations under the guise of a " silent station." The trust refused to back down and instead fought to ensure that the vital information remained accessible to those who needed it most.
Furthermore, the trust initiated a powerful campaign to provide a pension of 1500 rupees to the blind, resulting in a tangible victory when the Tamil Nadu government increased the pension from 1000 rupees to 1500 rupees, effective from January 1st. Thaaikarangal Charitable Trust remains steadfast in their commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of the blind, inspiring hope and progress for a more equitable society.
