7th Founders’ Day & Educational Scholarship Distribution Ceremony

Thaaikarangal Charitable Trust proudly celebrated its 7th Founders’ Day with an Educational Scholarship Distribution Ceremony at the South India Nursing and Paramedical Institute, Choolaimedu, Chennai.
Marking seven years of dedicated service towards the education and empowerment of Visually Impaired Students, the Trust distributed educational scholarships worth ₹3,00,000 (Rupees Three Lakh) to around 75 deserving Visually Impaired Students selected from different parts of Tamil Nadu. The scholarships were provided to support the students in continuing their education and pursuing their aspirations with greater confidence.
The programme was graced by distinguished guests including Ms. Lathha Kalayvanan, Officer, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore; Dr. P. Thayarammal, Founder of Thaaikarangal Charitable Trust; Mr. G. Sampath Kumar, Founder of South India Nursing and Paramedical Institute; Mr. P. Shankar, Managing Trustee, Kamadhenu Charities; and Mr. L. Kamaraj, Managing Director, Manju Associates. The Trust’s Secretary, Mrs. A. Jayamala, Treasurer, Mrs. M. Viji, along with other members and volunteers, also participated in the celebration.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr. R. Raja, President & Managing Trustee of Thaaikarangal Charitable Trust, reaffirmed the Trust’s vision that every Visually Impaired person should have access to education, achieve economic independence and live in society with confidence and self-respect.
Over the years, Thaaikarangal Charitable Trust has served more than 10,500 Visually Impaired persons through various initiatives. The Trust continues to expand its work across education, skill development, technology training, employment support and social empowerment.
A key focus of the Trust is to help Visually Impaired Students fulfil both their educational and technological aspirations. The Trust currently operates free residential hostels with technology training facilities for Visually Impaired Female Students pursuing higher education in Chennai and Thanjavur.
The 7th Founders’ Day was not only a celebration of the Trust’s seven-year journey, but also a reaffirmation of its commitment to creating greater opportunities, independence and a dignified future for Visually Impaired persons.
