A Memorable Journey for Visually Challenged Students: Trip to Meghamalai and Thekkady
Thaaikarangal Charitable Trust recently organized a 3-day trip to Meghamalai, Suruli Falls, and Thekkady for 27 visually challenged female students pursuing higher education. From October 10th to 12th, these students embarked on an unforgettable journey filled with adventure, learning, and the beauty of nature.
This initiative aimed to provide the students with a rare opportunity to connect with the environment, explore scenic landscapes, and enjoy enriching experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Accompanied by 15 dedicated volunteers from our hostel, the trip allowed the students to engage with nature and create lasting memories.
The itinerary included visits to breathtaking sites, such as:
- Meghamalai: A reserve forest area where students enjoyed the serene beauty and calming sounds of nature, taking in stunning vistas and exploring the rich biodiversity of the region. The pleasant temperatures added to the enjoyment of their surroundings.
- Suruli Falls: The highlight of the trip was a visit to the magnificent Suruli Waterfalls, where students experienced the thrill of bathing in the refreshing waters, creating joyous moments and memories.
- Thekkady: The final leg of the journey included a delightful boat ride in the scenic Periyar Lake, located within the Periyar Tiger Reserve. The students also enjoyed an unforgettable elephant ride, immersing themselves in the local wildlife and natural beauty.
To capture the joy and enthusiasm of our students, we shared photos and videos from the trip, highlighting the smiles on their faces that truly reflect the impact of this initiative.
At Thaaikarangal Charitable Trust, we remain committed to uplifting the lives of visually challenged individuals by providing them with opportunities to grow, learn, and thrive. This trip exemplifies our dedication to enriching their experiences and broadening their horizons.
