March 8, 2026

On Sunday, 8 March 2026, the International Women’s Day Celebration was successfully organised in Thanjavur by Thaaikarangal Charitable Trust in association with the Rotary Club of Thanjavur Divas.

The event brought together visually impaired women from Thanjavur and the Delta districts, providing a meaningful platform to recognise their abilities, celebrate their achievements, and promote confidence and inclusion.

The programme was graced by Dr. K. Radha Bai and Mrs. M. Muthuselvi Pandiaraj, whose insightful addresses emphasised the importance of equal opportunities, independence, and empowerment for visually impaired women.

A key highlight of the event was the inspiring speech delivered by Ms. Adhilakshmi, which deeply resonated with the participants and encouraged self-belief and determination.

The celebration featured cultural performances and interactive sessions, showcasing the talents, confidence, and spirit of the participants.

As part of the initiative, three laptops were distributed to visually impaired female students in Thanjavur, supporting their computer training and digital learning.

In connection with International Women’s Day, on Saturday, 7 March 2026, 50 visually impaired female students were taken to watch the film Thaaykizhavi at Sreepathi Cinemas. The outing, along with a shared lunch, provided the students with a joyful and memorable experience.

Thaaikarangal Charitable Trust expresses its sincere gratitude to the Rotary Club of Thanjavur Divas for their valuable collaboration and support. Special thanks are extended to Mrs. RTN Anandhi Murali for her dedicated efforts in organising this programme.

The event concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation and meaningful impact.
