Empowering Visually Impaired Young Women Through Travel and Discovery
September 29, 2025
Date: September 29 – October 3, 2025
Location: Vagamon, Kerala
Participants: 70 visually impaired female students and volunteers from Thaaikarangal Charitable Trust (Chennai & Thanjavur)
Thaaikarangal Charitable Trust successfully organized an educational and experiential learning trip to Vagamon, Kerala — a serene hill station known for its misty valleys and lush greenery. The five-day journey offered our visually impaired female students a rare opportunity to explore the world beyond classrooms and hostel walls.
For many of these students, it was their first-ever travel experience, filled with curiosity, laughter, and discovery.
They experienced the beauty of Vagamon through touch, sound, and vivid descriptions — feeling the cool mountain breeze, listening to the soothing waterfalls, and walking on the soft, grassy slopes.
Every moment of this journey strengthened their confidence, independence, and joy.
This trip was not merely a picnic — it was a journey of empowerment, designed to promote inclusion, personal growth, and teamwork.
Students participated in group learning activities, cultural interactions, and reflective sessions that deepened their understanding of the world around them.
Our Heartfelt Gratitude
We sincerely thank all those who made this meaningful journey possible:

At Thaaikarangal Charitable Trust, we believe that education goes beyond textbooks — it is about discovering life through experiences.
The Vagamon trip stands as a beautiful reminder that when opportunities are given, our visually impaired students can truly see the world through their hearts.
We sincerely seek your continued cooperation and support in empowering our students through such experiential learning opportunities in the future.
