LET’S UNITE OUR HANDS TO SERVE

Welcome to THAAIKARANGAL Charitable Trust, a beacon of hope and education for economically disadvantaged visually challenged girls. Our mission is rooted in empowering these resilient young women from underprivileged backgrounds across Tamil Nadu. By providing essential support and accommodations, we enable them to triumph over visual impairment and financial constraints, paving the way for a brighter future.

Our Journey

Since our inception in 2019,THAAIKARANGAL HOSTEL has evolved from a modest home for five girls into a nurturing haven for over 20 visually challenged girls. Our commitment extends beyond providing free accommodation; we embrace a holistic approach by offering complimentary meals and comprehensive medical care. Our girls are passionately pursuing degrees across diverse fields like arts, music, and computer studies in esteemed colleges across Chennai.

Financial Challenges and Your Transformative Support

The sustenance of our hostel necessitates a monthly expenditure of approximately Rs. 3,000 per girl. With rising costs due to inflation and an expanding resident count, we foresee heightened financial pressures. As a self-reliant initiative, THAAIKARANGAL relies solely on the generosity of individuals like you, as we receive no financial backing from the government or other NGOs.

Our Vision

While operating from a rented facility, our vision extends beyond accommodation and education. We aspire to establish a self-sustaining institution that empowers visually impaired women, fostering progress within the entire blind community. Our journey continues until every visually impaired individual in Tamil Nadu can access quality education, achieve economic independence, and live with the dignity they deserve.

We are resolute in expanding our hostel's capacity to accommodate 100 girls, meeting the growing demand. However, this ambitious goal is achievable only through unwavering and amplified support from compassionate individuals like you.

Empowering Initiatives

screening tests, conducted in collaboration with renowned hospitals such as Sankara Nethralaya, form a crucial part of our commitment. Our ultimate aim is to explore avenues for restoring sight, rekindling hope and offering renewed prospects to some of our students.

In addition to education, we facilitate holistic growth through coaching classes led by professionals. These classes are meticulously designed to enhance communication skills, personality development, and competitive exam readiness. This empowerment equips our girls to excel in their chosen fields and embrace a future full of possibilities.

Amenities Provided in Our Hostel

Our commitment to nurturing visually challenged girls goes beyond education. In our Foundation Hostel, we provide a range of amenities to ensure their comfort, security, and growth:

  • Braille Libraries: A window to the world of knowledge, with hundreds of titles spanning various subjects.
  • 24-Hour Wi-Fi and Computer Facilities: Empowering digital learning and connectivity.
  • Printing Facilities: Amplifying expression and creativity.
  • Biometric Entry Systems: Ensuring safety and autonomy for our residents.
  • CCTV Camera Surveillance: Providing a watchful guardian for added security.

Philanthropic Appeal

With humility, we appeal for financial assistance and support from the government, NRIs, charitable trusts, and individuals. This collective support will enable us to acquire a suitable plot of land within the city, thereby fulfilling our vision of establishing a dedicated institution. This institution will expand our horizons and introduce pioneering initiatives such as a Braille Library and a Recording cum Audio Library. These resources will foster self-sufficiency among our students, reducing their dependence on external assistance.

Your Impact Matters

We invite you to contribute generously to sustain the hostel's operations and realize our ambitious goals. Donations of any magnitude are deeply appreciated, and for those seeking a more profound impact, our adoption scheme offers the chance to support a visually challenged girl for a monthly amount of Rs. 3500 or an annual contribution of Rs. 42,000.

Consider marking special occasions by donating in celebration of birthdays, anniversaries, and other significant milestones alongside our hostel residents. Your support not only drives our initiatives but also imparts joy and encouragement to these remarkable young girls.

Thank you for being a catalyst for change and making a tangible difference in the lives of these young girls.
